Senior Principal, Studio Director
As a Senior Principal at Historical Concepts, Kevin Clark directs architecture and planning projects, leading one of the firm’s design studios as well as its Planning Resource Team. He also serves as a Managing Principal, overseeing marketing and business development, guiding client relationships, and shaping the strategic growth of the practice. A true generalist, his work spans luxury private residences, boutique hospitality, and complex mixed-use and master planning efforts throughout the United States and abroad.
His relationship with Historical Concepts began as a summer intern in 2001, and he returned to the firm after graduation, drawn to its collaborative culture and precedent-based approach. Educated in classical architecture at the University of Notre Dame, his work reflects a deep commitment to proportion, clarity, and regional character, grounding each project in precedent and respect for place. Named Partner in 2010, he has played an integral role in shaping the firm’s growth, mentorship ethos, and long-term evolution.
Known for both creative and strategic thinking, he approaches design as an act of inquiry—challenging assumptions and uncovering opportunities that strengthen the architectural and planning framework. Whether shaping a private estate, boutique hotel, or neighborhood plan, his work reflects a belief that thoughtful design elevates daily life while contributing lasting value to communities.
