Matthew Gambetta

Matt Gambetta acquired his appreciation of beautiful historical architecture while growing up in New Jersey and traveling with his family to Maine and cities in the Northeast. His interest became a potential career opportunity while enrolled in his high school’s AP Studio Art program, when he realized that practicing architecture would utilize his artistic and drafting skills. He continued to take drawing classes and draw in his spare time while earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Notre Dame and while studying philosophy for a year with the Congregation of Holy Cross. After a year of seminary, Matt pursued a Master of Architecture degree at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., studying classical architecture and urbanism under James McCrery. Matt’s desire for a precedent-based design approach and an emphasis on creating architecture rooted to places and climes led him to take part in Historical Concepts’ Intern Program in the summer of 2021 and to join the company in the summer of 2022. He is a member of the ICAA and the Council of Emerging Leaders for the School of Architecture and Allied Arts at CUA. He spends his free time cooking (especially for crowds), reading, listening to jazz and classical music, and visiting family and friends.
