Ian Griffey

Ian Griffey always knew he wanted to be an architect. His grandmother was a realtor, and even as a child he appreciated beauty in architectural detail as he visited properties with her. His parents, avid do-it-yourselfers, have renovated nearly every house Ian has lived in, and he learned much about the architectural process by assisting with those renovations. But his traditional architecture “aha” moment occurred while studying for his BS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brigham Young University, where studying engineering revealed the value and importance of permanence, durability, character and harmony in architecture.

Upon receiving his M. Arch from the University of Notre Dame, Ian joined Historical Concepts in August 2020 after two internships with the firm. He spends his leisure time with his wife and daughter.
