for the design of a Kiawah Island retreat that is a modern reinterpretation of a Charleston single house.

Historical Concepts received the
AIA ATLANTA RESIDENTIAL DESIGN AWARD
in the Single Family Traditional category
for the design of a new main house on a large estate near Charleston.

Weaving a narrative of generational additions and adaptive re-use, Historical Concepts created a main residence composed of three separate structures connected only by outdoor ‘hallways’.
