Historical Concepts received the
AIA ATLANTA RESIDENTIAL DESIGN AWARD
in the Single Family Traditional category
for the design of a new main house on a large estate near Charleston.

Weaving a narrative of generational additions and adaptive re-use, Historical Concepts created a main residence composed of three separate structures connected only by outdoor ‘hallways’.

Historical Concepts was honored with a
STANFORD WHITE AWARD
from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art
for the design of “A Village Estate” on Long Island, New York.

This rambling and romantic retreat was inspired by historic country houses of the region. A main house and series of ancillary buildings, interwoven with outdoor rooms and gardens, evoke the feel of a quaint European village.

 




 

----------        JUNE 2020----------        
The Congress for New Urbanism (CNU)
recognized Historical Concepts with a
2020 Charter Award
for the firm’s contribution to the revitalization of historic Senoia, Georgia.

Over a 15 year period, Historical Concepts served the city and private developers
with an array of planning and architectural initiatives, in an effort
to reclaim and protect the small town’s identity and encourage compatible growth.
