Project Background

The Development Authority of this north Georgia county commissioned a proactive planning study for an area of farmlands and pastures that were projected to experience development in the near future. The goal was to prevent typical outparcel development and suburban sprawl by providing an innovative and sustainable vision for future growth. An environmentally sensitive master plan emerged, with a series of rural hamlets woven around the existing farmland and green spaces. The accommodation of facilities for higher education and healthcare also provide opportunities for economic development that are consistent with the vision for growth in the county.
