Historical Concepts is organized into small teams referred to as studios, each led by a partner of the firm. This ensures that principal level attention is given every project while also providing daily mentorship for each studio member. The range of talent in each studio includes a mix of seasoned managers with years of experience to recent graduates who are just beginning their careers.
Each year Historical Concepts receives scores of resumes and interviews dozens of applicants. Yet, we intentionally resist aggressively growing the firm despite continuously expanding business opportunities. Currently, we have approximately 30 team members and usually only hire two to four key people each year. This deliberate approach to hiring allows us to maintain the highest levels of quality in our designs, and it also enables us to focus our training and mentoring efforts on a select few.
All applicants must share our passion for traditional and classical architecture and enjoy working in a team environment. We have a strong summer internship program and most past summer interns return to join us upon graduation.
